Historic Georgian townhouse in Dublin city centre offering paid parking and cooking facilities in select rooms

Accommodation & Rooms

Baggot Court Townhouse is a Georgian building that was home to the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1844. Select rooms include on-site cooking facilities, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. Rooms are available in multiple configurations, including twin rooms and double/single rooms with connecting bathrooms for families.

Location & Surroundings

The townhouse sits near St Stephen's Green and Trinity College in Dublin city centre. Temple Bar, the Grafton Street shopping area, and the National Gallery of Ireland are all within walking distance. Public transport is accessible with a bus stop directly outside the hotel.

Services & Practical Amenities

Free secure luggage storage is available for early arrivals and late departures. The 24-hour front desk can coordinate airport transportation and arrange taxis. A discounted breakfast can be booked at the same time as the room, with full-price breakfast also available during the stay.

Parking & Accessibility

Paid guest car parking is available on site but must be reserved in advance due to limited spaces. The parking entrance is a narrow tunnel, suitable for smaller cars. For larger vehicles, staff can arrange alternative parking at a sister hotel approximately 1 km away.

Family & Group Features

Some rooms are arranged as two separate bedrooms connected through a bathroom, which is noted as suitable for families with children. Breakfast offers a variety of options including a cooked Irish breakfast, pancakes with scrambled eggs, and continental choices. Staff have been described as helpful in coordinating luggage storage and room changes for families.

Highlights

History: Former Lord Mayor's residence from 1844

Parking: Paid on-site parking (advance reservation required)

Location: Walking distance to St Stephen's Green and Trinity College

Services: Free luggage storage and 24-hour reception

Rooms: Select rooms with cooking facilities

“The hotel's Georgian architecture offers a distinctive Dublin stay, placing guests near St Stephen's Green and Trinity College. Select rooms provide cooking facilities, a definite advantage, although sound insulation in some of the modern additions could be improved. I think its blend of historic charm and updated amenities makes it a reasonable base for exploring the city.”

Georgian Charm Getaway

helpful staff central location elegant room
I found the staffs helpful. They gave good service. The location is pretty central and I could walk everywhere. The building had interesting history and the room designs seemed elegant.
My room lacked soundproofing I could hear every word said by people next door. It seemed their television was in the room. I had difficulty sleeping because of this noise.
Rooms
9/10
The room included tea and coffee making facilities. It also offered a spacious shower. The room was very clean, and it seemed warm. All facilities worked well.
Dining
8/10
Breakfast provided a selection from three menu options. This did restrict the choices. The breakfast was good and served its purpose. I could have used a larger cup for my coffee.
Facilities
10/10
The hotel is at the end of a street. It's located in a nice area south of the city. Stephen's Green is a short walk. A bus stop sat outside the hotel.
